The EdTech Clubs are up and running, and the kids are up to all manner of awesome stuff.
Shooting and editing video, creating dance music, building race tracks from cardboard, building web sites, making digital self-portraits, blogging – you name it, they’re doing it.
Soon the Liberty Rec and Tech Center will be in their space, and the Digital Harbor Foundation’s Tech Center will launch shortly after. And starting in January, the STEM League will be up and running.
It’s incredibly exciting to see the kids digging in and making things and exploring what’s possible with tech. The EdTech Fellows are doing a fantastic job leading the kids in the clubs, getting them building and creating and collaborating.
As we continue to roll out new programming and bring in technologists and mentors to work with the kids, we expect to see a new community of young innovators coming up in the city. We are building a bridge, a connection, a pipeline of opportunity for these kids to learn the skills to transform their lives and our city.
